For the readers who don’t know you yet, can you briefly describe your entrepreneur journey?Neil: Yes. I’m a serial entrepreneur. I started off creating businesses for marketers and business owners, right? It’s all revolving around marketing. And in essence, what my goal was is to just help companies grow whether that’s traffic, online sales, that’s what my core focus is.Martin: Great. And at what point in time did you think about starting your own business?Neil: I started my own business when I was 16.Martin: Wow.Neil: And when I was 16, it was a job board, it didn’t work out well but I then created a marketing agency that helped people generate more traffic. And the reason I started out young is: I wanted to do something a nd I was too young, a good paying job, right? In the U.S, most jobs, you don’t get them until you’re done with college.Martin: That’s true. Okay, and can go give us some kind of insights, what type of companies did you start? I mean, I know that, but maybe for introducing that to the readers.Neil: I’ve done start-ups, to bigger companies now like Airbnb when they were a start-up, all the way to corporations like the Walmart, the General Motors, ViaCom, Google, Facebook, eBay, Amazon â€" I worked with them all.Martin: Cool, great. I mean, let’s dig deeper into how to build an online business because I know you have worked on Kissmetrics, you have started NeilPatel.com, Quicksprout and now also doing some Nutrition Secrets. What type of tips can you give us in terms of balancing traffic growth and monetization? So, at what point in time should I focus on what?Neil: It depends on your niche. But if you’re in the B2B niche, anytime you’re, let’s say, under a hundred thou sand like if you’re at that ten-twenty thousand visitors a month, you’re starting to have enough people where you can look at monetization. If you’re in the consumer niche, if you have under fifty or a hundred thousand visitors, it’s not that many, you can still monetize but typically you want to start shooting for about fifty thousand.Martin: Okay, cool. And typically when I look at those, kind of, online businesses, they are mainly having three paths:so one thing is traffic generation,then there is this kind of email collection, lead magnets andthe last thing is trying to monetize and sell those people something.What type of best practices have you learned in terms of really collecting much more emails from the people visiting your website?Neil: Yes, one of the best practice I’ve learned when it comes to collecting emails is to give them more information than the related page they’re on. So if they’re reading a blog post on getting more search traffic from Google, yo u offer this as PDF this report, it’s called the content upgrade. If you put it in email; they’ll get ten more ways to generate more traffic from Google. It’s very relevant and much more likely to collect a lot of emails.Martin: And how do you select those kind of upgrade content? So, imagine you’re writing something on, I don’t know, the best back linking tools or so. How do you come up with relevant content upgrade?Neil: So whatever your blog post is on, just do more of it. So if it is like a big list, it’s like a hundred and one ways, your upgrade can be a checklist. If your blog post is how to do something, your content upgrade could be “X more ways to do that same thing”, right? Or it could be like “X case studies of companies who implement it successfully”. So, it just has to be very relevant. Assuming they read the content upgrade, it should help them do the job better.Martin: Cool. Neil, so when you start out some new online business, for example, like yo u did with the Nutrition Secrets, how do you find an idea that is worth going after? What type of criteria are you using?Neil: I look up market cap, so I use Google Trends to type in industry keywords and it helps me to see how big an industry is. The bigger the industry, the more likely I am to go after.Martin: And how do you define the competitiveness?Neil: I don’t really look at competitiveness; I just look at how big it is.Martin: Wow, cool.Neil: So, when it comes to competitiveness, I just look at how many bloggers are there. So for example, an online marketing world, there are more people than in the nutrition space, more competitive because I’m competing with marketers. Yet, there’s less traffic in the marketing space.Martin: Okay, cool.Neil: So each visitor is worth more money, right?Martin: Yes, okay, great!SEO TIPS FROM NEIL PATELMartin: Let’s talk a little bit about SEO because I know you’re a big expert in this domain as well. So, how do I get backlinks? So ima gine I’ve started a blog and I’m writing some kind of content and now, the question is: Everybody tells me I should do some type of blogger outreach in order to track some back links. Actually, can you walk me through step by step, how should I do that?Neil: Yes, if you’re trying to track backlinks, the one thing I would do is use the tool like Ahrefs.com, put in URLs and everyone who links to that competitors or put into my competitor URLs, I see everyone who links them and then I’ll just start shooting up emails. I’ll be like:“Hey Martin, I notice you’re linked to XYZ website and it’s an awesome resource but have you seen this resource? It includes 20 more ways to blow your traffic or whatever it may be And doing that kind of stuff really helps generate more backlinks because you’re providing more value and not just asking for a link. You’re trying to tell them: “Hey, you know, my version of it is better off.”Martin: And what type of conversion rates can I expect? Say, imagine, I’m emailing 100 people who are linking to some kind of competitor website. What type of conversion rate can I expect in having a backlink?Neil: If you’re getting around 5%, you’re doing good.Martin: And how do you scale this kind of thing because I imagine this to be very time consuming?Neil: Yes, there’s no real good way to scale it.Martin: Good, awesome. If you’re looking at onsite SEO, what type of techniques can you identify for improving the user signals on your blog posts?Neil: Make sure you’re cross linking; you have good descriptive title text, and that your click-through rate is good. With the onpage SEO it just comes to using the best practices and making sure the click-through rates are good.Martin: By click-through rate, you mean from the Google search result to my page?Neil: Well, if you go to Google search console, you can see your click-through rate from everyone searching for a keyword.Martin: Yes.Neil: But in essence, what you want to end up doing is, like you mentioned, if people searching on Google and how many of them went through? Google search console shows you how many impressions you got per keyword and your click-through rate and you can compare to your others ones to see if it’s low or high.Martin: And what type of tips can you provide our readers for improving these click-through rates? So that, for example, I’m looking for, I don’t know, business plan or something like this and they are some one million search results. And I’m just looking at the first ten, what can I do in order to get from position 10 to position 6 for example just based on improving the text, meta text, or something like that?Neil: Yes, first off, when you change your click-through, or your title, and you improve your click-through, it does not improve your ranking right away. It can take months before you see the results from it. But there’s a few things:One, don’t just put keywords in there. Ideally, you want to ha ve keywords people are searching for but you don’t want to stuck with more and more keywords. You want your title very readable so that way, people are like: “Oh, cool, let me read this and then click-through on it, it seems really appealing”.The next thing is about curiosity. The more curious your title is, the more clicks you’ll get.The third thing is informational like how-to guides, lists. Think like magazine headlines, they do very well. Those are the type of titles that get a lot of clicks.Martin: Okay, cool. And how do I define if you look at the content, what specific articles do you want to write about? For example, if you’re looking at NeilPatel.com, so how do you find your content roadmap?Neil: You use a tool called Buzzsumo. You put your keywords in there related to your space and it will give you ideas or topics that done well in the past and you want to write similar articles.Martin: But still, you want to optimize those articles somehow. And what are you doi ng in this regard?Neil: Optimizing for click-through, or are you talking about optimizing the articles?Martin: The article itself.Neil: Well, for the article itself, it’s pretty simple.One, I write in a conversational tone, I use the words “you and I” often as if it’s a conversation which people want to read it, comment, etc.Two, I make the paragraph short like five-six line paragraphs max that way it makes it more readable.I use some subheadings. Subheadings describe what the section is about and makes it more skimmable and then the subheadings, you can also add keywords.I put a question at the end of each blog post; it helps in encouraging more comments.Those are the main things that I do when I’m writing articles.Martin: Okay, cool. So when I’m looking at lots of websites, some of them have a high bounce rate, some of them have a low one. What is your perspective on having a high bounce rate and what type of things can I do and should I even do then to lower the bounc e rate?Neil: Bounce rate is hard to control. You ideally want to control it but in most cases I wouldn’t worry about bounce rate, I would just focus on providing the best user experience. And if you provide the best user experience overtime you will notice that your bounce rate decreases.Martin: Okay, cool.ADVICE TO ENTREPRENEURS FROM NEIL PATELMartin: What type of advice would you give your best friend or so who comes up with an idea of doing something chocolate-related, for example? Let’s assume he’s a big chocolate fan and he wants to start some kind of online business around that. What type of step by step guide would you tell him so he can go on and start his chocolate business?Neil: So one, is to focus on the product make sure you have better chocolate than everyone else.Two, I’ll go into like Instagram and Facebook, find all the cooking, mom, family-oriented pages, and I’ll pay them to post about the chocolate or give them free chocolate in exchange for posting.Tha ts it. I would not do anymore, that would create enough buzz.Martin: Okay, and how would you balance? For example, what I’m hearing from Backlinko or so, they say write less blog posts but really make them super deep, like using the skyscraper technique and looking for lots of backlinks to one of those posts and focus on that. So don’t write millions of blog posts but focus on a little number of blog posts and make them right. What is your perspective on that?Neil: It is a good approach. The problem is that the most people can’t do what he’s doing, they cannot do the quality, they don’t know how to do that. And for that reason I would say Go for quantity.Martin: And what do you think keeps people from starting their own blog?Neil: The time, the effort, it’s a lot of work.Martin: Can you give some kind of insights on Nutrition Secrets? How much time did you spend in the beginning on starting this kind of blog, writing content, acquiring backlinks and so on?Neil: Yes, the guy who runs it (because I’m not a nutritionist) he was spending pretty much like 5-6 hours a day doing this stuff, it’s a lot of work. Writing content, building links, that is all that he was doing for many months.Martin: Okay, and when Im looking at some kind of smaller blogs who were really well monetized, something like SmartPassiveIncome or so, what type of advice can you give to people who are running a blog with like you said fifty thousand to one hundred thousand visitors or so who want to increase their revenue per mille significantly? So, like, from 2-3$ RPM to maybe 20-30$?Neil: Create a sales funnel.Martin: Okay, how do they do that?Neil: There’s no specific way but to map out the user buying flows, figure out what the journey someone would take before they buy and try to walk them through that journey. And make sure you have different options for when they don’t do this, where else do I send them, right?Martin: How does this apply to NeilPatel.com? The sales fun nel?Neil: Well, the sales funnel, when someone opts in with their email, we send them through a lot of different journeys to get them to buy products and services from us. And if they don’t buy, that’s okay, we educate them more, we build more relationships before we pitch them again.Martin: And what types of email CRM solution are you using and why?Neil: We use Infusionsoft and Maropost. Infusionsoft is good for the sales funnel and mapping it out and Maropost has higher deliverability.Martin: Okay, have you heard of ConvertKit? And what are your thoughts on that?Neil: I’ve heard of it, I haven’t used it.Martin: Okay, cool. So, any more tips that you can provide who’s really thinking about starting his next blog and online business?Neil: Yes, if you’re trying to start your next blog or online business, you have to be consistent. You’re not going to get results right away but if you hit it hard for 6-7 months straight, you’ll do pretty well.Martin: Okay, cool. And what are you doi ng in this regard?Neil: Optimizing for click-through, or are you talking about optimizing the articles?Martin: The article itself.Neil: Well, for the article itself, it’s pretty simple.One, I write in a conversational tone, I use the words “you and I” often as if it’s a conversation which people want to read it, comment, etc.Two, I make the paragraph short like five-six line paragraphs max that way it makes it more readable.I use some subheadings. Subheadings describe what the section is about and makes it more skimmable and then the subheadings, you can also add keywords.I put a question at the end of each blog post; it helps in encouraging more comments.Those are the main things that I do when I’m writing articles.Martin: Okay, cool. So when I’m looking at lots of websites, some of them have a high bounce rate, some of them have a low one. What is your perspective on having a high bounce rate and what type of things can I do and should I even do then to lower the bounc e rate?Neil: Bounce rate is hard to control. You ideally want to control it but in most cases I wouldn’t worry about bounce rate, I would just focus on providing the best user experience. And if you provide the best user experience overtime you will notice that your bounce rate decreases.Martin: Okay, cool.ADVICE TO ENTREPRENEURS FROM NEIL PATELMartin: What type of advice would you give your best friend or so who comes up with an idea of doing something chocolate-related, for example? Let’s assume he’s a big chocolate fan and he wants to start some kind of online business around that. What type of step by step guide would you tell him so he can go on and start his chocolate business?Neil: So one, is to focus on the product make sure you have better chocolate than everyone else.Two, I’ll go into like Instagram and Facebook, find all the cooking, mom, family-oriented pages, and I’ll pay them to post about the chocolate or give them free chocolate in exchange for posting.Tha ts it. I would not do anymore, that would create enough buzz.Martin: Okay, and how would you balance? For example, what I’m hearing from Backlinko or so, they say write less blog posts but really make them super deep, like using the skyscraper technique and looking for lots of backlinks to one of those posts and focus on that. So don’t write millions of blog posts but focus on a little number of blog posts and make them right. What is your perspective on that?Neil: It is a good approach. The problem is that the most people can’t do what he’s doing, they cannot do the quality, they don’t know how to do that. And for that reason I would say Go for quantity.Martin: And what do you think keeps people from starting their own blog?Neil: The time, the effort, it’s a lot of work.Martin: Can you give some kind of insights on Nutrition Secrets? How much time did you spend in the beginning on starting this kind of blog, writing content, acquiring backlinks and so on?Neil: Yes, the guy who runs it (because I’m not a nutritionist) he was spending pretty much like 5-6 hours a day doing this stuff, it’s a lot of work. Writing content, building links, that is all that he was doing for many months.Martin: Okay, and when Im looking at some kind of smaller blogs who were really well monetized, something like SmartPassiveIncome or so, what type of advice can you give to people who are running a blog with like you said fifty thousand to one hundred thousand visitors or so who want to increase their revenue per mille significantly? So, like, from 2-3$ RPM to maybe 20-30$?Neil: Create a sales funnel.Martin: Okay, how do they do that?Neil: There’s no specific way but to map out the user buying flows, figure out what the journey someone would take before they buy and try to walk them through that journey. And make sure you have different options for when they don’t do this, where else do I send them, right?Martin: How does this apply to NeilPatel.com? The sales fun nel?Neil: Well, the sales funnel, when someone opts in with their email, we send them through a lot of different journeys to get them to buy products and services from us. And if they don’t buy, that’s okay, we educate them more, we build more relationships before we pitch them again.Martin: And what types of email CRM solution are you using and why?Neil: We use Infusionsoft and Maropost. Infusionsoft is good for the sales funnel and mapping it out and Maropost has higher deliverability.Martin: Okay, have you heard of ConvertKit? Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart - 1014 Words

In the novel Things Fall Apart, written by Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe, we are taken on a literary life expedition of a man, named Okonkwo who is a respected warrior in his tribe of Umuofia –a Igbo (formerly known as Ibo not Igbo) tribe of Nigeria-- a hard worker on his farm and any work to be done in general, a husband of three wives and father to many children. Being the son of a man who died, depicted as inwardly womanly, cowardly (fearing blood and fighting) known for loving music and idle talk, also widely in-debt to many, many people, as well as dying as an wretch from a sickness in the evil forest out casted with his musical instrument and disease. Okonkwo purposefully takes on opposite characteristics. We see that his mother died when he was very, very young, dying in her own homeland, not in Umuofia. Viewing the author, and his intentions on writing his book, when you first look at it, you start to read it and the book seems to be directing to a specific audience differing from that of the intended, such as professors, pedagogues, and scholars familiar with Nigerian culture, history and the like. In my opinion, Alex grows as a person through the novel. Since many things happened to him when he went to Beijing, China, it seemed like a corner in his life. This corner changed the world which he viewed. Alex became from a boy who like military history, adventure, and admire heroes, to a person who knew truth, responsibility, and meaning of brave. Before Alex went to Beijing, he simply likes Chinese military. As he stayed in Beijing for few months, he found that there were more differences than he thought. He becomes more mature. Alex is addicted to Chinese military history, and he made many clay soldiers at his own home. When the students’ demonstration happened in Beijing, the government of China used people to against their people. That’s not like what Alex heard the history story, which talked about using enemy’s power to against them (borrow the arrows). When PLAs used tear gas to repress those people who were in the Tiananmen Square, Alex was shocked by what they did. On June 4, 1989, all PlAs were on Tiananmen Square to arrest students, and Alex found that PLAs were not people’s army. He realized that he just found the surface of the truth before. Before Alex went to Beijing, he likes adventure. As he met with that horrible and bloody massacre, his responsibility was growing. Everything needs to be organized before he wants to do. He felt sorry for Lao-Xu. If Alex didn’t rushed out of hotel at that day, Lao-Xu might not go to Tiananmen Square with him, even death. Alex saw that Lao-Xu felt on the ground with his warm blood. Another thing shows Alex became more and more responsibility, when Alex’s legs were hurt and healing at grandma’s house. He knew that he needed to find his father and he did care about him. At last, before he left grandma’s home to Canada, he smuggled to take tapes out of China. History Of Bullet Proof Vests Humans throughout recorded history have used various types of materials as body armor to protect themselves from injury in combat and other dangerous situations. The first protective clothing and shields were made from animal skins. As civilizations became more advanced, wooden shields and then metal shields came into use. Eventually, metal was also used as body armor, what we now refer to as the suit of armor associated with the knights of the Middle Ages. However, with the invention of firearms around 1500, metal body armor became ineffective. Then only real protection available against firearms were stone walls or natural barriers such as rocks, trees, and ditches. Soft Body Armor One of the first recorded instances of the use of soft body armor was by the medieval Japanese, who used armor manufactured from silk. It was not until the late 19th century that the first use of soft body armor in the United States was recorded. At that time, the military explored the possibility of using soft body armor manufactured from silk. The project even attracted congressional attention after the assassination of President William McKinley in 1901. While the garments were shown to be effective against low-velocity bullets, those traveling at 400 feet per second or less, they did not offer protection against the new generation of handgun ammunition being introduced at that time. Ammunition that traveled at velocities of more than 600 feet per second. This, along with the prohibitive cost of silk made the concept unacceptable. Silk armor of this type was said to have been worn by Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria when he was killed by a shot to the head, thereby precipitat ing World War I. Early Bullet Proof Vests Patents The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office lists records dating back to 1919 for various designs of bulletproof vests and body armor type garments. One of the first documented instances where such a garment was demonstrated for use by law enforcement officers was detailed in the April 2, 1931, edition of the Washington, D.C., Evening Star, where a bulletproof vest was demonstrated to members of the Metropolitan Police Department. Flak Jacket The next generation of the anti-ballistic bullet proof vest was the World War II flak jacket made from ballistic nylon. The flak jacket provided protection primarily from ammunition fragments and was ineffective against most pistol and rifle threats. Flak jackets were also very cumbersome and bulky. Lightweight Body Armor It would not be until the late 1960s that new fibers were discovered that made todays modern generation of cancelable body armor possible. The National Institute of Justice or NIJ initiated a research program to investigate the development of lightweight body armor that on-duty policemen could wear full time. The investigation readily identified new materials that could be woven into a lightweight fabric with excellent ballistic resistant properties. Performance standards were set that defined ballistic resistant requirements for police body armor. Kevlar In the 1970s, one of the most significant achievements in the development of body armor was the invention of DuPonts Kevlar ballistic fabric. Ironically, the fabric was originally intended to replace steel belting in vehicle tires. The development of kevlar body armor by NIJ was a four-phase effort that took place over several years. The first phase involved testing kevlar fabric to determine whether it could stop a lead bullet. The second phase involved determining the number of layers of material necessary to prevent penetration by bullets of varying speeds and calibers and developing a prototype vest that would protect officers against the most common threats: the 38 Special and the 22 Long Rifle bullets. Researching Kevlar Bullet Proof Vests By 1973, researchers at the Armys Edgewood Arsenal responsible for the bulletproof vest design had developed a garment made of seven layers of Kevlar fabric for use in field trials. It was determined that the penetration resistance of Kevlar was degraded when wet. The bullet resistant properties of the fabric also diminished upon exposure to ultraviolet light, including sunlight. Dry-cleaning agents and bleach also had a negative effect on the antiballistic properties of the fabric, as did repeated washing. To protect against these problems, the vest was designed with waterproofing, as well as with fabric coverings to prevent exposure to sunlight and other degrading agents. Medical Testing of Body Armor The third phase of the initiative involved extensive medical testing,  to determine the performance level of body armor that would be necessary to save police officers lives. It was clear to researchers that even when a bullet was stopped by the flexible fabric, the impact and resulting trauma from the bullet would leave a severe bruise at a minimum and, at worst, could kill by damaging critical organs. Subsequently, army scientists designed tests to determine the effects of blunt trauma, which is injuries suffered from forces created by the bullet impacting the armor. A byproduct of the research on blunt trauma was the improvement of tests that measure blood gasses, which indicate the extent of injuries to the lungs. The final phase involved monitoring the armors wearability and effectiveness. An initial test in three cities determined that the vest was wearable, it did not cause undue stress or pressure on the torso, and it did not prevent the normal body movement necessary for police work. In 1975, an extensive field test of the new Kevlar body armor was conducted, with 15 urban police departments cooperating. Each department served a population larger than 250,000, and each had experienced officer assault rates higher than the national average. The tests involved 5,000 garments, including 800 purchased from commercial sources. Among the factors evaluated were comfort ​when worn for a full working day, its adaptability in extremes of temperature, and its durability through long periods of use. The demonstration project armor issued by NIJ was designed to ensure a 95 percent probability of survival after being hit with a .38 caliber bullet at a velocity of 800 ft/s. Furthermore, the probability of requiring surgery if hit by a projectile was to be 10 percent or less. A final report released in 1976 concluded that the new ballistic material was effective in providing a bullet resistant garment that was light and wearable for full-time use. Private industry was quick to recognize the potential market for the new generation of body armor, and body armor became commercially available in quantity even before the NIJ demonstration program.

Macbeth and Hamlet as Tragic Heroes      Ã‚   William Shakespeare has written many literary works - from his sonnets to his plays, each has it's own individual characteristics.   One popular characteristic that comes from his plays is the tragic hero.   The audience can always relate to the tragic hero and the many trials he faces.   Macbeth and Hamlet are just two of Shakespeare's plays that involve the tragic hero.   Through their nobility, tragic flaws, and dignity Macbeth and Hamlet prove to be tragic heroes.    Macbeth's nobility begins with the title, "thane of Glamis" (1.3.74).   After the original "thane of Cawdor" (1.3.110) dies, Macbeth gains this title as well.   Once the witches reveal the prophecy that Macbeth would be king, Macbeth murders the king and takes the throne for himself.   This reaches the height of Macbeth's nobility.   In the beginning of the play, Macbeth is thought of as a "worthy thane"(2.3.43.), however, this shifts to nothing more than a "hell hound"(5.8.4.) in the end.   Much like Macbeth, Hamlet is very powerful and has a high status in the country.   Hamlet is the Prince of Denmark and was named "most immediate to [the] throne" (1.2.109) by Claudius.   "Lord Hamlet"(1.5.112.) is well respected by the people of Denmark.   Claudius takes this into account and does not immediately kill Hamlet when he finds out he knows the truth about his father's death.   Similar to Macbeth, Hamlet starts out in a more noble position than he ends up.   Once Ha mlet begins to act crazy, others start to believe his "noble mind is here o'erthrown!" However, Elitist framers manipulated the idea of a constitution in order to protect their economic interests and the interests of their fellow white land and slave owning men’ by restricting the voices of women, slaves, indentured servants and others. The Constitution that was created had a strong central government and weaker state governments. Under the Constitution, Congress was given the power to levy taxes, regulate trade between the states, raise an army, control interstate commerce, and more. A three-branch government was established in  which a judicial branch handled disputes in a federal court system, a President headed an executive branch, and a legislative branch. Conversely, the anti-federalists believed in weak central and strong state governments, as the way it was in The Articles of Confederation and believed in strict adherence to the writings of the constitution. Furthermore, the creation of The Constitution caused much debate between the elite and democratic states because they thought that if the Government got all of the power, they would lose their rights. The conflict between the North and South played a major role in the development of this document. The North felt that representation in Congress should be based on the number of total people and South felt that it should be based on number of whites. However, The Three Fifths Compromise settled this when it was said a slave will count as 3/5 of a free person of representatives and taxation. Article one section two of the Constitution defines how the population will be counted, obviously there was a strong opposition to this by Southern states like Virginia because their economy was based on slave labor and they had a bigger population because of it. Additionally, In Young’s’ article he mentions â€Å"four ghosts† (Young 3) the first being Thomas Paine, Abraham Yates, Daniel Shays and Thomas Peters who â€Å"haunted† (young 3) the minds of elites as they were making the constitution. These â€Å"ghosts† were representations of the resistance the elites encountered during the revolution; as a result, accommodations were made in order to avoid conflicts such as the ones they had previously faced such as Shays Rebellion. Secondly, another issue would arise with the Article 4. Section 1 declares that all states will honor the laws of all other states; this ensures, for example, if someone was declared a slave in one state they couldn’t be freed in another state. Also, section two, serves as the comprise between the founders and citizens to section one by guarantying that citizens of one state be treated equally and fairly like all citizens of another. It also says that if a person accused of a crime in one state flees to another, they will be returned to the state they fled from. The slave states could lose  more slave labor by other owners claiming slaves that weren’t theirs. Those people like William Byrd feared that the Constitution wouldn’t work because it was completely opposite from The Articles of Confederation. Consequently, the majority of the states had to accept the constitution the law and abide by it. The Anti-Federalist viewed the federal judicial system as a threat to individual liberties and state’s independence. How far could the judges expand their role? They feared they would be ruled by Kings. There was nothing in the Constitution to guarantee civil trial by jury and judges could take over matters that had been the jurisdiction of lower courts. They worried that the jurisdiction of the federal courts was too broad and not clearly defined. To resolve this issue the framers detailed what powers the judicial system would have, for instance, (Article 3, Section 1) Congress establishes inferior courts to the Supreme Court. It was a part of the system of checks and balances designed to ensure that one branch of the government wouldn’t dominate the others and each had limitations of power. (Constitution 4) Another fear of the anti federalists was the cost of the constitution, some feared that it would cost too much to change the laws in their states and this would greatly impact their lifestyle especially the planters and slave owners. Article I, Section 8: â€Å"To lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States† (Constitution 2). This gave states the power to collect taxes, by providing this section those elites would have more protection against economic loss. Some delegates feared democracy itself. They believed that unfit people would control the government as a result more checks and balances were put into place, for example, The Electoral College was implemented to ensure that the uneducated masses didn’t elect someone unsuitable for the presidency. They also created guidelines for the selection of the president, the guidelines are that the candidate is at least age 35, a natural-born citizen, and has a residency of at least 14 years. Another major concern could have been the connection between the national government and its people. To combat this each state would have their government and representatives. The government would also have a bill of rights that protected the natural rights of the citizens. So, in conclusion, the Constitution began by using the Articles of Confederation to create a stronger centralized government. Each state had their own interpretation of the document and the varying lifestyles of the framers and citizens delayed ratification time after time. Biography and Facts About Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon

Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon  was the daughter of the Scottish Lord Glamis, who became the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, Elizabeth was educated at home. She was a descendant of the Scottish King, Robert the Bruce. Brought up to duty, she worked to nurse troops in World War I when her home was used as a hospital for the wounded. Life and Marriage In 1923, Elizabeth married the second son of George V, the shy and stuttering Prince Albert, after turning down his first two proposals. She was the first commoner to legally marry into the royal family in several centuries. Their daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret, were born in 1926 and 1930, respectively. In 1936, Alberts brother, King Edward VIII, abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson, a divorcee, and Albert was crowned King of Great Britain and Ireland as George VI. Elizabeth thus became queen consort and they were crowned May 12, 1937. Neither had expected these roles and while they fulfilled them dutifully, Elizabeth never forgave the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the titles of Edward and his wife after the abdication and their marriage. When Elizabeth refused to leave England during the London Blitz in World War II, even enduring the bombing of Buckingham Palace, where she was residing with the king, her spirit was an inspiration to many who continued to hold her in high regard until her death. George VI died in 1952, and Elizabeth became known as the Queen Mother, or fondly as the Queen Mum, as their daughter, Elizabeth, became Queen Elizabeth II. Elizabeth as Queen Mother remained in the public eye, making appearances and remaining popular even through the many royal scandals, including her daughter Margarets romance with a divorced commoner, Capt. Peter Townsend, and her grandsons rocky marriages to Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson. She was especially close to her grandson, Prince Charles, born in 1948. Death In her later years, Elizabeth was plagued with ill health, though she continued to appear in public regularly until a few months before her death. In March of 2002, Elizabeth, the Queen Mum, died in her sleep at age 101, just weeks after her daughter, Princess Margaret, died at age 71.
